Tawfique Chowdhury
Born in Bangladesh and later on moving to Saudi Arabia, Shaykh Tawfique Chowdhury spent most of his childhood there before moving to Australia to complete his high school studies. Graduating from high school as class valedictorian and being the recipient of the Australian Students Prize for academic excellence for achieving the third highest tertiary entrance rank in Australia, he went on to pursue his studies in Medicine at the University of Melbourne. During his time there, he received a number of awards for academic excellence. Prior to his final years of the medical program, he withdrew from the course to accept a scholarship at the Islamic University of Medina, where he completed a diploma in Arabic and graduated from the College of Shariah with a rank of excellence. During his stay in Medina, he completed the study of numerous classical texts from a number of its distinguished scholars. He has permission to teach from several of them.
